contact usChiropractic works by restoring the normal and healthy functionality of your central nervous system by adjusting the spine. Chiropractic was first recognized in the 1890s and the term “chiropractic” originates from the Greek words “chiro” and “praktikos,” which means “hand” and “practice.”
Chiropractors are trained to evaluate the entire musculoskeletal and nervous systems which are highly related and co-dependent of each other. If one system has a disturbance it can affect the function of the other.
In our technology-based world, neck and back pain from improper posture is at an all-time high. “Text neck” has become a widely discussed epidemic starting much earlier in life than any previous generation. Early degeneration due to this posture is causing more neck, shoulder, arm, upper back and low back problems. This can also lead to increased occurrences of headaches and migraines.
Dr. Parham has specialized training in infant and pediatric assessment and adjusting. Birth is traumatic to infant musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Plus, she is trained to treat pregnant women too! We have a specialized table and pillows to keep our moms-to-be as comfortable as possible during their treatments.
Note: it does not indicate whether an adjustment “worked” or not. If there is not a large enough pressure build up in the joint the adjustment will not cause an audible sound. Similar to the Coke, once it’s been opened it does not repeatedly make noise every time you open the cap.
We work with, and can recommend, local birthing specialists/educators, doulas, and midwives to help you have the birthing experience you want. These resources can also provide education on nutrition, health and wellness before, during and after your pregnancy.
We will be hosting educational classes and workshops in the near future. Let us know if there is a topic you would like to see covered!
